Discover the Joy of Missions

Women’s Missionary Union (WMU) is divided into the following

age levels:

Mission Friends is the mission organization for all preschoolers, age 3 through Kindergarten. In Mission Friends, boys and girls begin to understand basic ideas about God’s love for people all over the world. Following the school schedule, Mission Friends meet once a week on Wednesday evenings, 7:00 p.m. in the Children’s Hall.

Girls in Action is a group of girls who are ages 6-11, or are in grades 1-6. Girls in Action (GA’s) can help girls to develop mission lifestyles as they learn what God is doing in the world and discover their places in God’s plan. GA’s meet once a week on Wednesday evenings, 1st-5th grade at 7:00 p.m., 6th grade at 6:15 p.m. in different locations of the church.

Acteens is the mission organization for girls who are ages 12-17 or are in grade 7-12. Through Acteens teenage girls in the church have opportunities to grow in their relationships with God and with their peers. Acteens learn to look beyond themselves and become actively involved in missions and ministry. Following the school schedule, Acteens meet once a week on Wednesday evenings at 6:00 in different locations of the church.

Women on Mission is missions for women ages 18 and up. Through Women on Mission a woman can recognize her status in Christ and reach beyond herself to a global vision as she fulfills Christ’s mission purpose in her life. Any woman can be a member of Women on Mission, even if she is not a member of GLBC. We have two groups who are currently meeting: WOM meets every 3rd Monday, 11:30 a.m. in the Multi-purpose Building and Heart-to-Heart meets every 1st Wednesday, 6:00 p.m. in Room S109 of the Sanctuary Hall.
